How to play bingo

Your first visit

What to expect at the hall

Buy your cards

At 1000 E. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington, Noon Bingo is Suite B and Pioneer Bingo is Suite A. Tell the front-counter employee if it is your first visit. Choose your cards and buy regulation bingo daubers if you did not bring your own.

Find a seat

Choose a place to sit. If you prefer a nonsmoking area, there is a room behind the glass wall.

Listen when the session starts

The caller explains the rules and what you will play first. Keep listening: the caller announces the card color, the game, and when a pull tab is being played. These can change as the session goes on.

Understand the monitor

The caller shows two upcoming numbers on the monitors. The large number is next; the smaller number in the corner follows it. This helps you stay two numbers ahead, but neither number counts until the caller says it aloud.

Call Bingo at the right moment

The last number you need for your winning pattern must be called aloud. If you need I 20, wait until the caller says “I 20,” then yell “Bingo!” loudly enough to get the caller’s attention and stop the game before the next number is called or the game is closed.

Get ready for the next game

After a game ends, tear off the sheet you just played from your set and discard it. Listen for the next announcement: the caller may play a pull tab before the next bingo game.

Tap numbers to mark your card. This practice game is Double Bingo (corners good). Complete two lines that share a square, or one line plus all four corners. Rows, columns, and diagonals count. The center FREE space is already marked.

Double Bingo on a real three-card strip

Your paper set may show three or nine cards at a time. Mark a called number on every card where it appears. The blue marks below show the same calls across all three cards; the winning pattern forms on the left card.

One line + four cornersOn the left card, 10, 25, 43, 57 and 63 make the top line. Mark 15 and 66 for the bottom corners. The same calls are marked on the middle and right cards wherever those numbers appear.
Two lines sharing a squareOn the left card, the top row and B column meet at 10. Mark 4, 5, 13 and 15 to finish the column. Check every card for the same called numbers.

Play Double Bingo (corners good), then tap Call Bingo! to check your card.

At the hall: Call “Bingo!” loudly enough to stop play before the next number is called or the game is closed. A late call cannot be accepted.

A second way to play

How pull tabs work

A pull tab is a separate game you can buy at the hall. Open the windows on your ticket to see what you have. Some tickets have an instant prize; event pull tabs use numbers announced later. The instructions printed for that particular game tell you how to win.

This real event pull tab has five pairs of numbers. In this practice example, one number from each pair must be called to win. Try the calls 6, 17, 36, 47, and 63.

Paper packages are listed for the 1st and 2nd sessions. Friday and Saturday's 3rd session has separate packages; ask at the counter.

New or returning after a long break?We recommend starting with the $6 Mini Combo or a computer. The Mini Combo gives you 12 cards: 6 full-price and 6 half-price. A computer handles the marking for you; ask staff to show you how it works.

House rules

Choose the hall you plan to visit. The rules below come from each hall’s posted house rules.

Noon Bingo door times

Monday–Saturday: doors open at 11 AM. Sunday: doors open at 12 PM.

If you have Bingo, get the caller’s attention and stop the game before the next number is called or the game is closed. No exceptions.

At the hall

  • You must be 18 or older to be in the bingo hall. The smoking ordinance is in effect.
  • All patrons must be playing Bingo. No loitering on the premises.
  • Please silence cell phones and electronics, and keep conversations to a minimum.
  • Stacking bingo chairs or saving tables is not allowed.
  • Only regulation bingo daubers may be used to mark bingo cards.
  • Cash in all instant-win pull tabs by the end of each session.

Calls and wins

  • Numbers shown on the monitor are not valid until the caller calls them aloud.
  • It is the player’s responsibility to stop the game before the next number is called or the game closes. No exceptions.
  • Once the caller closes a game, it is final and cannot be reopened.
  • Bingos are invalid if numbers or card numbers are marked too dark to verify.
  • Make all disputes to the caller before the game is closed.
  • You may request verification of numbers drawn when a winner is determined.

Cards and equipment

  • Bingo cards are valid only for the session in which they were purchased. Do not remove cards from the hall.
  • Anyone bringing in cards from another day, session, or hall will be prohibited from playing at Noon or Pioneer Bingo.
  • The manager on duty handles improper ball calls or equipment malfunctions.

Following the rules

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at any time for not following the house rules.
